3. Jesus Christ – Christology

Introduction: Who Is Jesus Christ?

Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus asked His disciples two questions that continue to resonate today:

1. “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

2. “Who do you say I am?” (Matthew 16:13-16)

Many have attempted to answer the first question:

• Some view Jesus as a prophet.

• Others see Him as a great teacher.

• Still others regard Him as a moral man with an exemplary life.

However, the second question is far more significant. Each individual’s response determines:

Eternal destiny (John 3:36).

The quality and fruitfulness of life here and now (John 10:10; Colossians 3:3-4; Galatians 2:20).

The central theological issue remains: Who is Jesus Christ?

The Bible proclaims Him as God in the flesh (John 14:6), calling everyone to come into a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

The Importance of Studying Christology

Studying the Doctrine of Christ reveals:

Who God is (Philippians 2:5-11; John 1:18).

What God intends for humanity (1 Peter 2:21; 1 Corinthians 15:45-49).

This study focuses on what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ.
