Crossing Cultures‘ “News from the Field”
John Redshaw (CCI South Pacific Regional Director) taught BTCP Book 8 (Teaching Principles & Methods) to a group of 8 pastors and church leaders in Suva, Fiji. The diligence and hunger of these men for God’s Word was an inspiration. In Nadi, he co-taught a Teacher Training Workshop with one of the CCI Directors, Eric Most, to a group of 25 church leaders from the Nadi Brethren Assembly. The elders of this church are passionate about the training available through the BTCP classes and are actively seeking to train young leaders within their church, as well as, encouraging other local churches to join in.
Please pray for John’s wife, Rosemaree, who recently underwent an 8 hour surgery to remove a cancerous lump. Pray for the Lord’s healing, for Rosemaree, and strength as she recovers from the surgery. Praise the Lord that there was no more cancer in the biopsy taken from lymph nodes.
CCI is equipping new leaders and reaching Buddhist monks.
Vannak Pheng (pictured below teaching Buddhist monks), one of our current students in Phnom Penh, has attended CCI training since 2011. He is the director of Joomroke Soksan Organization (The Shelter of Peace). This ministry is reaching out to Buddhist monks, poor students, aged-out orphans, and at risk girls.
Praise God for successful Teacher Training Workshops in Soe Kupang, May 2-3, where 9 pastors attended and in Waikabubak, West Sumba, May 5-6, where 25 pastors attended. Pray for Pastor Edy Wowor, CCI Indonesia Country Coordinator, as he follows up with these potential trainers to start new classes.
